LOVE

For my word I chose 'LOVE' an idea of which we are all knowledgable, something as humans we all share. Using images of which we all love and of things representing love, I put them in the letter form. In front of a multi-red backdrop.

Series of 6!

This is  my series of 6 on the social injustice of discrimination and prejudice. The common variable, upon which these six are based is the word 'UNCOOL.' Very repetitious, I know, but certainly gets the message across. Each picture illustrating the idea and act of discriminating.

Hotel Rwanda Movie Poster

Me and Grant worked on this together. I used simple selection techniques to compose this piece. Deleting unwanted space. The UN helmet and the background Rwandan flag along with the tree of life, and machete represent separate elements of the movie and genocide. I love it.

Color Wheel Stencil

This project was a simple idea of selecting images, adding a stroke, and placing them in front of a gradient. Grant, Tate and I all took the pictures from the first project and then the check marks are from a project earlier in the year using the blur tool and shape tool to blur circles of color. I am very satisfied with my work.

Photo shop tutorials

These tutorials were for creating Neon artificially, and Smoke... neither were in the original image. They weren't exactly amazing tutorials...but I followed them as best I could, creating what I thought was a solid project. Im fairly satisfied with my work.

Hidden Image

There is a sneaky snake hiding here. Try and find it!

Used simple selection tools and changed the lighting on it a bit...fairly simple project...mostly satisfied with my project.

Tutorials

These are my first two tutorial projects, Blending Into A Wall and Reflecting Images in Shiny Metals. I was inspired by pokemon for the second and I lacked inspiration for the first. I worked alongside the video tutorials to complete each, following each step to the dot.

Pokemon Chair

This project was inspired by my rediscovered love and obsession with pokemon. I used the final evolution for each of the original starter pokemon in my project with a lowered opacity pokeball to decorate my office chair. I think I did a fair job.

First Chair

Grant & I put this together using the art of Picasso, orienting them in a row and cutting them into slices. Then puppet warping them to the chair. I feel satisfied with my and grant's work.

Inside Out

We were assigned to turn something inside out and illustrate what was truly beneath the surface. I used a Ying-Yang and tie-die. I think I did this well and efficiently.

Nine Image Filtered Self Portrait

For this project we were instructed to create a multi filtered creation using a picture of ourselves. It was quite easy, the hard part was deciding which filters to use. I was inspired by my good looks. I am quire satisfied with I turned out. Hah.

Kaleidoscope

For this project we were told to create a kaleidoscope out of an image. I was quite simple, just to follow the youtube video explaining each step. I was inspired to use lollipops because of my everlasting hunger.  I am fairly satisfied with my work, as i enjoy following the ribbons along the edge.

Exam

For this mid-term exam, we were told to create a project from our previous art projects, using a multitude of tools. I simply took a random artistic approach to create a more 'lax piece. I was inspired by the idea behind cropping, using that tool to crop each of my projects. I am quite satisfied with my work, having clever little jokes and ides throughout my work. I might add an actual grid, with color and such next time.

Designs For Paper

This project we were supposed to create any kind of card and in honor of the past holiday season, I created a holiday card. I used a simple picture of frost, and gave it a border. I of course was inspired by the snow back home. I thought i did pretty great.

Circles

For this project we were instructed to riffle through some ARTnews magazines and find some interesting pieces. This circle based Aborigonal Art caught my eye with its bold colors and striking circles. I really like its simplicity and how it makes the eye trace every part of the circle and each dot. The simplistic striking qualities really agree with me.

Fruit by the Foot, sike.

For this project we were told to sort through ARTnews magazine and find a piece of art that caught our eye. Immediately this cover caught mine. The colors were very attractive all being mostly primary colors, I love those, they are something that is always eye catching. Also, the way the ribbon has been placed really agreed with my eye for some reason. Overall, I think the simplicity and the appealingnesss of the piece just really agreed with me.
